St. Maarten / St. Martin is Back Better than Ever!
We are very happy to report that our ‘Friendly Island’ paradise is bouncing back from the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Many businesses have re-opened better than ever! Others are in the rebuilding process and overall our Island is being reborn! Many of our restaurants, shops and tourist facilities are brand new! Some hotels have reopened – renewed – notably La Samanna. Others are being completely rebuilt and will reopen soon – with the latest designs and newest hotel amenities in the industry!
All of our beautiful beaches are open! Cleanup was done almost immediately by the Nature Foundation. Road conditions are good. There is no trouble driving anywhere on the island. Electric and Water service is normal. There are no issues with safety or security.
Beach Restaurants have (and are) reopening all around the island. Examples are Simpson Bay – Buccaneer & Karacter; Kokomo’s in Indigo Green; The Holland House in Philipsburg; Friar's Bay Beach Cafe; the Beach Bar & Restaurant at Anse Marcel and the newest openings along the famed Orient Beach are the brand new Bikini Beach, Kakao and Kontiki – all with a chic ‘St. Tropez’ vibe!
Another area to watch is Maho! The 2 towers of the Sonesta Hotel are scheduled to reopen in 2019 as well as the adults’ only Ocean Point resort there. The entire village of Maho is new – with fun restaurants and shops and the completely rebuilt Casino Royale offers the latest and best in gaming, entertainment and nightlife including a new rooftop bar and restaurant!
St. Maarten / St. Martin is Back! More and more of our loyal guests and friends are returning every day! And the island population is grateful and welcoming with open arms!
