John has had over 30 years experience in the Financial Services business in the United States. For more than half of those years, he was involved in the financing of residential and commercial real estate. He was not only involved in analyzing and approving real estate transactions but in most cases involved in the management of lenders in a regional market. His experience has taken him across the Southeast United States and as far West as Phoenix, Arizona, and Maui, Hawaii and as far North as New York City.

In addition to his financial background, John obtained his Real Estate License in 1997 and joined his wife, Dale in her real estate practice. Since 1997, John and Dale have had the opportunity to sell almost $200 million in residential, commercial and investment real estate. This sum put them in an exclusive group of real estate professionals in the country.

John and Dale began developing single family projects in the French Lowlands of St Martin in 1999 and have successfully built and sold luxury homes in the area. They also purchased, improved and resold several undeveloped residential building lots in the Lowlands

During this time period, John and Dale operated a Construction Management Company as well as a Consulting Company to assist buyers and clients who wanted to build on the Island. Their long-term relationships with the local architects, builders, legal representatives, and sub-contractors enabled them to make the process of buying and building outside of the United States a much smoother process.

John’s latest development is Shore Pointe at Cupecoy. It is a unique and luxurious community of 16 Villas on the ocean at Cupecoy Beach. It quickly became the most successful high end development on the Island. John managed the entire development from arranging the initial financing for the land purchase and construction costs, to design and infrastructure development, overseeing construction and in charge of all marketing and sales for the development.

Through these experiences John has come to know the intricacies of living and doing business on both sides of the Island. Having successfully bought, sold, built and developed real estate in both the Dutch Lowlands and the French Lowlands he has gained knowledge that is invaluable to buyers and sellers in the area. His reputation and relationships with all the local bankers, real estate people, notaries and attorneys, builders and contractors provide a valuable resource to his clients and will insure a smooth, successful transaction whether you’re buying or selling in the Lowlands.

In her home country of Canada, this was fine-tuned over the years in both the government and charitable sectors. Beginning her career as an intern in the Prime Minister’s Office, she quickly rose through the ranks to become a trusted and effective advisor in some of the most challenging portfolios. After ten years of service she made the leap to the charitable sector where she was appointed Director General of a unique national think-tank that served to inform and engage citizens in building a stronger country. From there she then focused her efforts on finding and implementing nimble and practical solutions that lead to meaningful employment for highly-skilled immigrants in the workplace.

Always demonstrating a zeal for life-long learning, Rebecca is multi-lingual and boasts a strong finance background in both theory and practice.

Rebecca relocated to St Maarten in 2008. From Rotary to trans-Atlantic sailing she has thrown herself into all aspects of island life. Professionally, she has bundled her skills to build a successful consulting practice. Shore Pointe at Cupecoy was one of the first large scale developments in which she participated. Through her involvement in Shore Pointe Rebecca quickly learned all the aspects of construction, real estates sales, property maintenance and management and more. Along the way, Rebecca has forged strong relationships with developers, contractors, notaries, bankers and suppliers alike. With her unique skill set, work ethic and dedication to her clients she finds find the solutions that clients demand in order to realize their dreams. Michele was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and lived in the East Village of NY, working for Chanel prior to moving to St. Martin / St. Maarten.

Like many before and after her…she came to St Maarten/St Martin to vacation and fell in love with the Island. She had been seeking a simpler way of life and found it here. That was almost 22 years ago and she still loves the Island way of life.

After moving to the Island she worked in sales and management for a variety of Boutiques on the French Side of St Martin until she and sister Lisa opened the now famous and hugely successful “Blooming Baskets”. She and her sister still own the boutique today, which is located in the Village Shops at Porto Cupecoy.

Six years ago the lure of selling Real Estate brought Michele to Sotheby’s Real Estate Company. She received her real estate training on the job site of the Cupecoy Yacht Club which today is…Porto Cupecoy. When her contract with Sotheby’s expired Orient Express Company hired her to continue the sales effort at the development. Michele has been the leading salesperson there for the past 5 years.

Michele decided that it was time to make her own way in the Real Estate business and has just joined Elite Properties as an independent Contractor. She will be listing and selling properties in the Cupecoy / Lowlands areas and will assist her customers and clients in the Vacation Rental division of Elite Properties as well.

Her years of experience and knowledge gathered through her involvement of every aspect of the development in the area is invaluable to her clients whether they’re seeking advice on buying, selling or vacationing in the area!
